You’re not perfect

You’ve been impatient – even if it felt like they deserved it you don’t feel good about it.

You let your feelings out – which can be a good thing, in general, because if you don’t some part of you is going to break.

But was it the best way to express them or the most appropriate time and place? No.

Did it make a bad situation worse? Yes.

Do you regret it? Of course.

Can you think of a better way of handling your frustrations next time and getting the support you need? What would that look like?

Unfortunately, during this Covid crisis you will be given lots of opportunities to practice doing it better.

So, yes, you made a mistake – now forgive yourself and move on.

But what if your mistake was more serious than simply “losing it”?

Then you need to forgive yourself even more, love yourself even more, and reach out to your peers and loved ones for support even more.

That moment is gone, make the next one better and be kind – to yourself first and most of all!🫂

I am a wife, mother, and author. I taught high school for 27 years and I was a hospital and hospice chaplain until my health required that I retire. I miss my hospital coworkers and cannot imagine how terrible this year and last year have been. I want to be there for them in at least this small way.
